The Department of Health in Indian River (DOH-Indian River) became involved in Wabasso with our first Protocol for Assessing Community Excellence in Environmental Health (PACE-EH) project in 2004.

Our work together and with Wabasso residents has achieved so many good things over the last 20 years such as new water systems, three phases of sewer, park improvements, paving roads, improving drainage, streetlights, sidewalks, building a house in a day, rehabbing over 20 homes, and demolishing abandoned homes among many other things.

DOH-Indian River returned to Wabasso with a second PACE-EH Project in 2021.
