Health care and laboratory providers are required to report conditions of public health importance to the Florida Department of Heath.

The Florida Department of Health in Indian River County’s Epidemiology Department provides information, screening and education for sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), and other reportable diseases, as well as surveillance of reportable diseases in an effort to prevent and/or control the spread of communicable diseases and protect the health of those in our community.
