The Department of Health Wabasso Site provides:
- Free, on-site health screenings in partnership with several local service organizations.
- Health education by DOH and in partnership with Senior Resource Association
- Access to healthy foods (through the county’s food pantry and DOH’s FL Blue grant) for food insecurity.
- Nutrition Garden Resources Program allows community access to on-site garden and nutrition education.
- Referrals to agencies for care.
- Applications for financial assistance with utilities, rent, prescriptions and indigent cremation in partnership with Indian River County Human Services.
- A place for community gatherings.
- Congregate meal site for seniors 5 days a week in partnership with Senior Resources Association.
- Treasure Coast Food Bank Food Pantry and “Market Fresh on the Move” Mobile Grocery in partnership with Indian River County Human Services.
- Senior Fitness Classes in partnership with Indian River Parks and Recreation.
- HIV/AIDS Prevention and Testing.
- Women Infants and Children (WIC) maternal educational services and assistance including breastfeeding.
- Whole Family Health Center Mobile Medical Office.
