DOH-Indian River is Hosting a Hepatitis A Vaccine 2nd Dose Clinic

February 10, 2020

Indian River County, FL— The Florida Department of Health in Indian River County (DOH-Indian River) is hosting a special walk-in 2nd dose Hepatitis A vaccination clinic on February 17th and 19th, 2020. This clinic is for those who received their first Hepatitis A vaccine during the health department’s August 2nd through the 9th, 2019 special walk-in clinic. The Hepatitis A vaccine will be free during this clinic.

The Hepatitis A vaccine consists of two doses that must be at least 6 months apart. Hepatitis A is spread through infected feces (poop) that you swallow by not washing your hands or touching contaminated surfaces. It is important to wash your hands after you use the bathroom and before you eat or drink and to get vaccinated.

If you are unable to attend the clinic, the Hepatitis A vaccine may be available through your healthcare provider and is available at most pharmacies.  For additional information, please call 772-794-7400.
