2nd Annual "Women's Wellness Day"

Join the Fire Girls of Indian River County and DOH-Indian River on Saturday, May 6th, 2017 

Women’s Wellness checkups are essential to a woman’s health by preventing and detecting health problems that could lead to serious health issues. The Fire Girls of Indian River County, in collaboration with the Florida Department of Health in Indian River County (DOH-Indian River), will be providing women’s wellness services at the 2nd Annual “Women’s Wellness Day”. The event is free by appointment and is open to women 21 or older who are without health insurance and reside in Indian River County.

“We are so proud to be a part of this wonderful annual event and to support the Fire Girls of Indian River County”, said Miranda Hawker, Florida Department of Health in Indian River County Administrator. Early detection of problems discovered during women’s health check-ups increases the chance of improved health outcomes.

Women’s Wellness Day will be held on Saturday, May 6th from 9:00AM – 1:00PM at the Indian River County Health Department located at 1900 27th Street in Vero Beach. Services are by appointment only and will be provided by health department clinicians and support staff. Women’s wellness services include:

  • Women’s Wellness Exam ( to include Clinical Breast Exam and Pap Smear)
  • Blood Pressure Check
  • Diabetes and Cholesterol Screenings (Fasting required)
  • Eye Screenings
  • Testing for STDs
  • Update on Immunizations
  • Local programs and services for women and much more

Join the Fire Girls of Indian River County and DOH-Indian River and receive product samples, health information, healthy snacks, visit local vendors and enjoy a bit of pampering. Appointments are now being scheduled for this event, so please call 772-794-7428 to schedule an appointment.
