FLORIDA HEALTH IN INDIAN RIVER RECOGNIZES WORLD AIDS DAY

Indian River County– In recognition World AIDS Day, Florida Department of Health in Indian River County (DOH-Indian River) is hosting a free HIV testing event on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.  The event will take place from 10:00AM to 1:00PM at Wabasso Church of God located at 8710 64th Avenue in Wabasso.

John May, Florida Department of Health in Indian River County’s HIV Outreach Coordinator, encourages everyone to come out and get tested.  “World AIDS Day is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died, said May. 

At this event, participants will have the opportunity to get tested, learn about HIV/AIDS, and visit community vendors.      

  • DOH-Indian River will be offering free HIV testing with rapid 15 minute test results, as well as free STD testing.
  • Free health screenings will include: Blood pressure and blood sugar screening.
  • Free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccinations for those 12 years and older.
