"Youth Taking Charge" - Our Youth Standing To Make A Difference

November 15, 2018

Children of all ages, along with their families, are invited to attend “Youth Taking Charge” on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at Dasie Hope Center, 8445 64th Avenue, Wabasso.  The event is sponsored by Dasie Hope Center Wabasso Florida and Florida Department of Health in Indian River County.

This free event will provide attendees with empowering educational opportunities to help them make positive choices in their lives. “By giving our children the tools to succeed in life, choosing the right path becomes easier”, said John May, HIV Outreach Coordinator for Florida Department of Health in Indian River County.

Three Grand prize awards will be presented to children who previously provided artistic presentations with the theme “How I Can Make A Difference”. Free HIV and STD testing will also be provided.

The day’s event topics include:

  • Anti-bullying
  • Social Media and Safety
  • Substance Abuse
  • My Life Experiences

May encourages youth and their parents to “Come on out to this worthwhile event, have fun with us and help our youth stand to make a difference”.
